SKS Architects is a design firm located in Marin County, California that was founded in 2007. Initially comprised of a sole architect, Stewart Summers, the firm has since grown to a team of two California Licensed Architects and two draftspersons. SKS Architects handles both residential and commercial projects throughout Marin County and the Bay Area.
Residential projects include new home construction as well as remodels and additions. Our approach to residential design places an emphasis on balance, proportion, light, and connection to the outdoors. SKS Architects will either design the structure in a manner that blends seamlessly with the existing elements or completely transform the home into something new, depending on which approach is suitable to the specific project.
Commercial projects include tenant improvements for various commercial properties including but not limited to retail, restaurants and medical offices. SKS Architects ensures that spaces are designed in the most functionally efficient manner to meet the needs of both the business and its patrons.

Pre-design is the initial brainstorming portion of the project during which we will assist you in evaluating your project goals and requirements.
We will listen to your ideas, ask questions to gain further insight, and explore different possibilities.
At this point the firm will also perform an extensive entitlement review with the local governing authority to ensure that we fit within the guidelines for a successful approval process.
For addition and remodel projects it is necessary to have accurate architectural drawings of the existing structure, "as-built" drawings.
We will listen to your ideas, ask questions to gain further insight, and explore different possibilities.
