Bild Architecture was founded by husband and wife, Evan Carroll and Sasha Salzberg. While architecture is the common thread, the Bild team brings together direct experience from the fields of business management, construction, mechanical and plumbing design, property management, building science consulting, and community-based design-build architecture.
This diverse set of backgrounds informs the pragmatic, relationship-based approach to building design that is Bild Architecture. The Bild practice is built on a local foundation. Bild founders both grew up in Southern Maine, and many of Bild's projects have roots in relationships made long before the Firm's formation. Integrity and trust with clients, contractors, code enforcement, and local communities is paramount to Bild's grassroots business development style.
Bild has lasting collaborative relationships with municipal and State regulators that help Bild to usher smooth design and permitting processes. In October of 2018 Bild was recognized by the American Institute of Architects as an Emerging Professional Friendly Firm.
This award is given to firms who display an exceptional commitment to developing their Emerging Professional staff; Emerging Professionals are any students, recent graduates, or architects licensed within the last 10 years.
The opportunity to be considered for this award was brought to the firm by Audra Wrigley, who made the submission for consideration as well.
As an emerging professional herself, it is an honor that Audra considered Bild worthy for consideration.

The 2018 Maine Mass Timber Design Competition was advertised nationally and brought entries from many parts of the country.
A collaborative effort between AIA Maine, Maine Mass Timber Commercialization Center, University of Maine College of Engineering and Architecture, Passivehaus MAINE and Maine Huts and Trails, the competition charge was to create a four-season lodge to provide accommodations and meals in the backcounty of Maine's Carrabasset Valley.
