David Cohen, Principal of DEC Architect LLC, has devoted his architectural career to melding design excellence with a focus on client needs, a firm grasp of building technology systems, and a concern for the environment. As a recipient, during his professional degree program at the University of Virginia, of both the Masters Program Technology Book Award and the Henry Adams Certificate for Excellence in the Study of Architecture, David brings a holistic perspective to the architectural design of every project.
His twenty five-plus years of experience with synagogue design, residential architecture, and commercial interiors assures an in-depth understanding of the issues clients face in constructing a new facility, or improving their existing one.
He has served on the Architectural Advisory Panel for the Rutgers Center for Green Building, been featured in NJN's documentary "NJ Green Builders", and has participated in several of the Union for Reform Judaism's symposia on Synagogue Art & Architecture, and served on that organization's Synagogue Architects Advisory Board.
