Services
In our first meeting, we'll get acquainted as we talk about what you want to create (a home that works better, a new home, a cottage or multi-family development).
We'll also discuss the site, and your needs and expectations for the project.
I'll explain the stages of the design process and estimate the time frame needed to complete your design.
Each site has its own possibilities and restrictions; your needs and hopes are unique; and construction budgets vary from project to project (based on project type, size, location, and current construction costs.)
Like a recipe, each building project calls for a unique set of ingredients (services) to produce your desired result.
Site selection & analysis - Define requirements to guide land purchase, and research into codes applicable to a specific site.
Site planning & design - possible configurations of the site based on codes and project requirements.
I will develop a detailed description of your goals and needs, review the site and existing conditions, research the applicable zoning codes and planning department requirements and determine how they will affect your project.
This isn't the type of Light House used for navigation - it's the type of Light House that has been designed to capture the light and the incredible views from the site.
Here in Northwest Washington, we really crave light and this house really captures the light and the owners will enjoy that sunny feeling all year round - the house's many windows turn this into a lantern.
With its embrace of the outdoors, its seaside simplicity, its reverence for classic details, this home celebrates the power of place.
We all dream of our just right home - however you define it.

I firmly believe that creating a new house for a client is a collaborative process between architect and client.
I listen very closely and ask thoughtful questions to help me understand and identify your goals and priorities.
Your answers will tell me about how you live, your aesthetic preferences, your budget, and your desired time frame.
These project photos represent a small portion of the many projects that my clients have entrusted me to create for them.
The guiding principle behind each of these projects is the idea that the best projects arise from successful collaboration between client and architect.
I thoroughly enjoy working with my clients to create projects that exceed their expectations.
