Architectural practice is constantly evolving and we understand that a large part of this evolution begins within education. The AIAS strives to be ahead of the curve; providing our members with invaluable experiences that will prepare them for entering the profession and beyond. Our events and programs are geared towards encouraging students to discover and ignite their true passions.

Each AIAS opportunity is developed to appeal to students of varying backgrounds, experience levels, and interests. Through the Freedom by Design program and other community outreach, we empower our members and students as a whole to be good citizens on their campuses and in their communities. We organize students and combine their efforts to advance the art and policy of architecture:.

We are the sole student voice in the collateral discussion and decision-making process that include The American Institute of Architects (AIA), The Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA), The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and The National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).
Services
The AIAS is governed by the Bylaws and a ten-member Board of Directors that meets at least four times each school year.
The Board and the activities of the organization are guided by the input provided by the Council of Presidents (COP) that meets twice each year.
The COP is comprised of one delegate from each chapter in good standing.
To be a chapter in good standing, the chapter must be current in payment of chapter dues, have more than ten individual members and be in compliance with the AIAS Bylaws.
The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) represents the collective voice of architecture students across the U.S., and across the world through our international chapters and partnerships with comparable student associations in Europe, India, Australia, Africa, and South and Central America.
AIAS members have expressed a desire to use their voice to make a difference, and to be more relevant.
In response, the AIAS Board of Directors has initiated a standing Advocacy Task Force to examine and address contemporary issues facing students as they transition into practice.
AIAS membership dues should not be a barrier to accessing the benefits that the AIAS has to offer.
Many of these benefits provide members with access to information about the profession, networking opportunities, and leadership skills.
These experiences are more important now than ever before.
There are a few ways you can help!
We believe in the power of small donations and are offering four different ways to donate.
We also want to say thank you to those who are able to donate, so if you sponsor a member you can expect a letter in the mail with an AIAS sticker.
Chapter Dues primarily fund the organization's insurance policy.
This policy provides risk mitigation to the national organization and national office as well as to each individual chapter, including many of the events that they hold locally.
Your chapter is eligible to vote in the National Elections during the Council of Presidents meeting at FORUM.
Your chapter will be listed on our website, can use the AIAS name and logo, and will be covered by our insurance.
The safety of our members and partners is important to us!
This year's AIAS Grassroots Leadership Conference will be held in a virtual format.
Join us on the web for three days of chapter leadership, business leadership, community involvement and innovation content.
Learn from CEOs, founders, government officials and professionals, as well as our very own talented members and elected Officers and Quad Directors!
EVOLVE- The world has radically changed in many ways in a short period of time.
The life of our organization and the lives of our members have changed forever.
