In between two great meadows complete with flocks of sheep with the brilliant clients we designed this true modern farmhouse.
The house is super-insulated with a SIP (structural insulated panel) roof and R-8 triple glazed Sublime windows.
We incorporated some massive and ancient hand hewn Chestnut timbers salvaged from a barn on the site.
The floors are polished concrete and hickory hardwood.
Every detail was tended to with care and interest from the owners.
The high end kitchen cabinets were purchased from Renovation Angel, a source for high quality second hand cabinetry at a fraction of the original cost.

This collection of small house designs by David Murray Architect were conceived to meet the need for high performance but modestly scaled and priced homes with style and grace fully intact.
Efficient and elegant floor plans with high "R" wall and roof sections and in some cases with integrated photovoltaic arrays allow them to easily reach "zero net energy".
A tight prismatic form with punched openings and a limited pallet of materials make this house a visual delight.
Minimalist House 2 is a three bedroom version with en suite bathrooms and more generous public spaces.

This current project for a bakery / cafe has an Alice in Wonderland theme and we are proposing to reproduce at an appropriately out scale the original John Tenniel illustrations including the grinning Cheshire Cat.
This project was a major addition and renovation of an existing four bay firehouse garage building.
The addition turned the old garage into a fully functioning firehouse with accessible bathrooms, a communications room, a kitchen, a SCBA room and a new 14' tall equipment bay.
