We work to keep our costs low for licensure candidates beginning their professional careers-which is why the fees for some programs and services increase after initial licensure.
All fees are non-refundable.
You will need an active NCARB Record to participate in the Architectural Experience Program (AXP), take the Architect Registration Examination (ARE), and have your Record transmitted to an architectural registration board for initial licensure.
Once you're licensed, you'll also need a Record to apply for the NCARB Certificate.
Of the 55 jurisdictions, 50 licensing boards allow candidates to take the ARE while completing their experience-this is known as early eligibility.

In most cases, if you have met the requirements for education, experience, and examination, we will evaluate and transmit your Record in approximately 45 business days.
We will notify you via email before transmitting your Record to your requested jurisdiction.
If your jurisdiction has additional requirements, you may have to complete those re.
