During the 1980's, changes in business and construction were accelerating rapidly.
Design and construction delivery, however, were not.
Embracing a little known process called Design-Build, Accord Architecture Company was founded in 1986 to address this problem.
Since that time, Accord has developed into an outstanding Iowa-based firm providing complete design services in a variety of project delivery methods.
Many of our private clients enjoy the benefits of design-build where we are teamed with our parent company, Henkel Construction, under a single contract for both design and construction.

After exploring master planning options with Accord Architecture in 2015, Mitchell County Regional Health Center embarked on a multi-phased, $12 MIL expansion and renovation project that will transform both the hospital and clinic.
This project includes approximately 24,000 SF of additional space and 17,000 SF of renovated space.
After having a great experience with Accord Architecture on the Senior Life Solutions adult geriatric psychiatric renovation project in 2013, Hancock County Health System hired Accord again for a master facility plan study in 2014 that focused on the emergency, surgery, clinic, wellness, lab, pharmacy, and HIM areas of the hospital.

Kingland Systems is rapidly becoming a technology giant providing platforms of software solutions to customers around the globe.
Their home office in Clear Lake is a combination of building types with ample area for innovative ideas that will not only "wow" their customers, but also provide amenities for current employees and recruitment of future software engineers and other employees.
That project was followed by FCB's conversion of a former insurance building on the west side of Mason City into the FCB headquarters.

Since the initial construction of this $11 million facility, Cargill Kitchen Solutions has added on twice, both times again asking Accord to provide the design.
The design concept of this facility is to be functional first, clean in appearance and very, very efficient in the process of food products.

This work included new stone and exterior insulation finish system materials on the outside of the building, a re-organization of the interior room layout and a new addition to the south side of the main retail building for offices.
