Russell Abraham is an architectural photographer based in San Francisco serving all of Northern California. For over 30 years he has been photographing for architects, interior designers, hotels and resorts, commercial real estate interests, product and furniture manufacturers and retailers. He started out working with notable Bay Area photographers Joshua Friewald and Jeromiah Bragstad in the black and white film era.

Since then he has progressed from Ektachrome sheet film to high resolution digital cameras. Abraham still uses electronic flash extensively to light most interiors and objects. He believes that lighting gives accurate and predictable color, textured highlights and shadows that will show detail and print. He lights in such a way that even another photographer would have a hard time figuring it out.

Abraham's client base has included many noteworthy national and international design firms including HOK, SOM, KMD, Smith Group JJR, Swatt|Miers and Ehrlich Architects. On the hospitality side of the ledger, his client list has included major hotel management companies and cruise ship lines, such as Hyatt, Marriott and Royal Caribbean International.
Services
We provide drone photography and video services for architects, developers, builders, and realtors in the Bay Area & Northern California.
Working with stills and live footage can be a cost-effective way to create a video for your website or marketing collateral.
A finished video of an architectural project can consist of animated stills, live "B roll", and drone footage spliced together in a seamless fashion.
All capture modes have their pluses and minuses.
Some techniques, like time lapse, work best from live video while the drone may make the best long truck shots, and a slow pan shot may work best from a still image.
I have known and worked with Russell Abraham for well over 30 years, and he has always produced top quality photography for our firm.
While Russell has always had a good eye for finding the best views, and he is a master at creating artificial lighting, in recent years his work has significantly matured.
His work today is imbued with what I would call "warmth" or "humanity", qualities that make Russell a perfect choice to photograph the architecture that we create.
Perhaps the digital age has influenced this maturity, I'm not sure, but his work just keeps getting better all the time.
