We have received several awards from the Boston Society of Architects and are noted for buildings that fit well into their environment. As someone who has worked in both construction and community planning and development for over forty years, I most appreciate architecture when it is tasteful and complementary to its setting. The projects designed by Strekalovsky Architecture always reflect this objective.

Vcevy and Mark take the time to understand the context of the building or addition that they are designing and, as a result, their finished products, while being architecturally distinctive, still fit seamlessly into their settings.

A new nursery school building for this 60-acre agricultural site reflects the character of the original 18th century farmhouse and is sited so as to minimize environmental impact.
The 5,800 square foot "green" building includes three accessible classrooms and a gross motor and multipurpose activity space.
Dormers draw sunlight into the lobby, where built-in seating and bookshelves encourage family members to linger.
Interior windows create a sense of shared activity and airiness.

Due to structural issues, the recommendation to the Town was to demolish the existing 1954 building and construct a new two-story building within the current footprint.
This allowed the site design to preserve the current soccer, softball and volley ball elds, while creating much needed additional parking.
The new two-story, 70,000 square foot building houses 460 students in Grades 2 and 3 in 20 standard classrooms.
Specialized rooms for art, music, small group rooms, a computer lab, and an additional 20-student collaborative room are included in the design.
After 30 years in a "temporary" home (an 1860's church structure), construction of a new 15,500 square foot Abington Town Hall was approved by the residents of Abington.
The project included the construction of an access road to town-owned property behind the High School and site development involving the simultaneous bidding and construction of a new Public Library.
The Abington Town Hall provides modern office space for all town departments, extensive record storage facilities and multiple meeting rooms.
It is the first joint public library to be funded by the Massachusetts State Board of Library Commissioners.
We were involved in the project from the initial feasibility study phase and worked, not only with the Study and Building Committees, but with multiple municipal groups through a lengthy process to maximize the benefit and share the costs for two neighboring communities.
Ultimately, the building was designed as a multi-functional facility including a Recreation Department gymnasium, community meeting rooms, an extensive children's library program and centralized circulation, which provides security for the library without increasing staffing costs.
In combining a senior center with a youth and recreation center, Harwich was able to build broad-based support for the project from a multi-generational constituency.
The joint facility provided cost efficiencies and amenities for each user that wouldn't have been possible with separate buildings.
While each group retains its identity, with separate entrances, reception, administration and meeting spaces, we were able to provide auditorium/multi-purpose, kitchen, exercise, childcare, game, and locker space and a high school-sized divisible gymnasium, available to all and administered by a Community Center manager from a central location.
