Wisznia's multi-disciplinary approach breaks down the silos that impede creativity, collaboration, and, in turn, innovation. The close coordination and integration of development, architecture and property management results in catalytic properties that create economic, ecological, and social benefits for our residents, partners, and neighbors. Wisznia | Architecture+Development was founded in Corpus Christi by Walter Wisznia in 1947.
At the beginning of the 1960's, Walter pioneered a new building type, residential condominiums. The concept was so new for the area that Walter wrote the legislation to allow for this building type. Although it was unusual at the time, Walter Wisznia not only acted as Architect, but also as Real Estate Developer.
Marcel Wisznia, following in his father's footsteps as an Architect/Developer, was awarded the Tony Goldman Award by The National Trust for Historic Preservation for his leadership in modifying existing federal programs to work together to spur the revitalization of Downtown New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
