SISR Architecture, LLC (pronounced "scissor") is an acronym for Sustainable, Innovative and Socially Responsive Architecture. SISR is a company that designs residential and commercial architecture, focusing on green design. Innovative Architecture combining the newest technology with traditional construction methods.

Whether designing a multistory public building or an addition to a residence, as Architects, our goal is always the same: to achieve a balance between our clients' goals and our shared responsibility to be global stewards.A successful architecture project is a great collaboration between the project owner, the Architect, and the rest of the design team. The result is a beautiful, functional structure that contributes to a strengthened sense of community.
Services
SISR was founded in 2007 by licensed architects Douglas Stewart, AIA, LEED AP.
Doug has more than 30 years of experience in residential and commercial architecture creating designs for new projects, additions, and renovations.
At SISR, we believe that everyone deserves a beautiful home and wonderful places to work and play.
And while SISR architects love to design new buildings, we also appreciate renovating and re-purposing existing buildings to improve them for the people who live, work and play in them.
The W.S. Badger Facility, located in Gilsum, NH, produces, packages and ships their Badger Balm products all over the world, which include lip balms, suntan lotions and scented oils.
This facility was originally designed to be much larger by the company's owner.
But with the help of commercial architects SISR Architecture, the building size was reduced to 20,000 square feet to keep the project within budget.
The building is a modified timber frame structure built on a slab-on-grade foundation.
The wood stud walls are filled with dense pack cellulose (recycled newsprint) insulation.
This Lake Home in Sunapee, NH was designed on a site of a former dilapidated cottage.
The site was extremely small and the residential architecture program was quite large: two master suites, guest room, living room, kitchen, dining room, three-season porch and plenty of storage.
The existing cottage was completely removed except for the original fireplace and chimney, which were incorporated into the exterior patio as a fire pit.
There is a 'balcony' sitting area on the second level with views of the pond (and kitchen and living room below).
