The process of taking a conversation with a client and turning it into a built environment is so gratifying. Together we create a bridge between idea and reality. Fish Street Design is the architectural design firm of David B. Hart, AIA, NCARB, a registered architect in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Whether new construction or renovation, each project is about enabling clients to articulate their vision, then creating a design that embodies it while addressing the practical aspects.
Hiring the right architect to design our dream master addition was critical to making it a reality. David Hart worked closely with us to ensure that all of our wishes were incorporated into the plan and partnered with us through to completion. We especially valued David's review of the progress and the way he worked closely with our contractor. The final result has exceeded our high expectations!

Services
While each of our projects has a unique design aesthetic, embodying the needs and tastes of the owners, they all reflect our commitment to creating unique spaces that positively influence lives.
The new home is located on a hillside site that affords sweeping spectacular views of the Mount Washington Valley.
The existing house was knocked-down to allow the Owner to build a new home for a growing and extended family to enjoy on Long Lake in Bridgton, Maine.
This site provided a great opportunity to work with the mountain topography and create a home that has unique features with a panoramic curved deck and lower level stone-lined screened porch.

There are five basic services an architect usually offers.
The phases start with concept diagrams and can guide you through complete construction.
The services are flexible enough that you can choose how far you want to go, although some of the work may be influenced by an earlier step.
The five typical phases are Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Bidding, and Construction Administration.
The design/build process can be an enjoyable and very rewarding experience-especially with the help of a professional architect who can map out a course that steers clear of roadblocks that would otherwise cost you time, money, and emotional anxiety.
