Topanga Architecture & Design
Helping our clients develop sustainable homes, built both for natural living and comfortable enjoyment of that all their sites can offer. With all the limitless options available, why not design something special. We enjoy the process of designing for our clients' use and pleasure while educating them on the myriad of options available. We can show you how some design features can elevate a project from common place to inspiring.

As you can imagine we enjoy architecture and interior design and want your home to be special for you, your family and friends. With our experience we can help avoid the mistakes of poor construction details and missed opportunities. We deliver the best product while staying within your design and budget goals. We always consider the natural environment, site and orientation to make a space comfortable.

Focus on healthy, natural sun-lighting to minimize energy costs and increase your enjoyment of the space. The goals on this project were for the house to be fireproof, low maintenance, utilizing natural air flow and solar angles to minimize the use of heating and air conditioning.

Geoff Sheldon started architecture classes in High School at one of the only high schools in the country to offer architectural design.
He studied architecture in England and later received his degree at the University of Southern California.
His focus was on design for utilization of solar and other natural design functions.
Sheldon went on to work for a developer of medical buildings and was involved with several high-end commercial design firms.
He obtained his contractor's license and ran a construction company for 10 years.
Experienced help to understand and organize the parts of an architectural project.
We have the ability and design talent to organize design solutions that can help clients gain a place that is more enjoyable, takes advantage of the natural aspects of the environment, and uses the natural properties of the construction materials in ways that make the home or business more efficient, practical and environmentally sound.
Having experience with the process and procedures of developing a project and getting it built ensures a more efficient process.
Get the construction drawings that help get the best features at the desired level of finish.
With so much time, money and effort going into a new project, its silly to rush into things without getting an experienced guide to help you along the way.
We want to work with you to go through all the needs and options early in the process.
Let us design it right the first time.
There are so many options in design, materials and execution, that these are almost limitless.
How does it effect what has already been done and may need to be redesigned or even rebuilt?
We've been asked which do we prefer?
Residential work or commercial work?
The answer is we prefer clients interested in taking advantage of architecture and design.
We prefer good clients.
Clients who can either work with us, and/or trust us to design for them.
A good client/architect relationship is fun, rewarding and typically leads to better architecture.
Our experience is with custom residences and commercial tenant improvement work.
So, we are not the firm for ground up commercial high rises, multi-family residential, and large scale tract home development.
Over the years, we've designed and built many contemporary and traditional new houses, remodels and extensions.
While every project responds differently to the individual site and client's aspirations, all our designs are inspired by our passion for creating modern, elegant, energy-efficient architecture for easy 21st century living.
When economic times are tough and house prices are high, many homeowners choose to improve, extend and/or alter their existing home, rather than move.
Equally, house purchasers may find and want to buy a house in a great location then remodel it to suit their specific needs.
