Before starting the firm in 1989 as a sole practitioner, I felt some architects were either solely in it for their own gain or just not listening to what their clients were telling them.
They weren't interested in solving problems, they just wanted the prestige of being in charge or simply designing something they thought the client would appreciate rather than address those problems head on.
