We create enduring architectural solutions aimed at preserving the past, designing for the present, & planning for the future. The office of Legacy Architecture is located in the historic Eliza Prange House, constructed in 1923 by one of the founders of Sheboygan's famed H.C. Prange Company.

Jennifer Lehrke and her husband, Mark, purchased the building in the fall of 2014 and undertook an extensive restoration project to convert the building into four professional office suites and list it in the State and National Registers of Historic Places.Restored to its original splendor and upgraded for maximum energy efficiency, the Prange House showcases the commitment to our ideals of preserving local history and striving for a sustainable future while perpetuating a local landmark.
Services
The City of Sheboygan offers loan and grant programs to eligible commercial building owners in an effort to promote restoration of historic buildings, conserve valuable architecture, and preserve the city's ethnic and cultural heritage.
We have completed numerous facade studies through the City's grant program; utilizing historic photographs and other resources to design plans to restore buildings that have been negatively altered in the past to their original appearance.
This report focused on the De Pere Lockkeeper's House, which is located on a narrow dyke in De Pere, Wisconsin.
The study involved consultations with key stakeholders to provide future use options for the house, which included an active recreational shelter, an institutional office, and heritage tourism lodging.
Rehabilitation costs for each use were developed, and the economic viability of each use was determined.
Schematic plans and elevations were developed for each use as a means to attract investors and prospective tenants.

We completed the first two of three parts of the Federal Historic Preservation Tax Incentives application, Part 1 Evaluation of Significance and Part 2 Description of Rehabilitation.
This Victorian mansion on the eastern shore of Elkhart Lake was converted into an elegant bed and breakfast.
The project included providing the 7 guestrooms with their own private bath, converting a first floor parlor into the private owner's quarters, enlarging the dining room, and updating kitchen and restoring the finishes throughout.
A second stair to the third floor was added to meet modern building code requirements.
Reminiscent of their east coast roots, we helped these home owners create a dream vacation destination for their young, active family and extended family.
A rarity along the lakes, the large lot features a yard for sport and play.
A combination of patios, covered porches, and three season rooms intermingle the indoors and outdoors and allow for enjoyment of the picturesque site no matter the season.
The interior contains an array of both formal rooms for entertaining and informal rooms for everyday living.
