I've worked with Ken for over 16 years and have found him to be one of the most creative and thoughtful architects of the day. He has great attention to detail and is extremely talented. We had the pleasure of collaborating with Ken Tate Architects on a "Creole Classic" project outside of Houston. A classic European colonist style home with a southern Louisiana swampy feel gave the area exactly what it needed, personality.

Ken's knowledge of classical architecture and his attention to detail make for a one of a kind home and experience. In addition to being a renowned architect who works nationally, Ken Tate is also a celebrated abstract painter.

Over his illustrious career, he has been commissioned to do over fifty unique mixed media portraits, been published in numerous magazines and is in private and corporate collections all over America and Canada as well as being commissioned to do the merchandising art for Bloomingdale's spring 2017 campaign throughout stores nationwide.

Combining classical elements inspired by the architecture of Andrea Palladio with those recalling the romantic character of the Mediterranean Revival, this 12,800-square-foot (1189-square-meter) house pays homage to and enhances the extraordinary streetscape of New Orleans' Saint Charles Avenue.
Inspired by Palladio's Basilica in Vicenza, the facade features a single-story portico with a cut-stone arcade and a balustrade terrace above.
Offset by the overall simplicity of the facade, the portico's effect is dramatic without overshadowing the surrounding architecture.
Located in the prestigious Eastover neighborhood of Jackson, Mississippi, this house began life in the international-style of the 1950's.
While still retaining its original one-story brick exterior, Tate's new additions include an asymmetrical pair of two- story wings and a new carport and glass stairwell- all designed in a late 20th century modern style to accommodate the needs of a family of five.
In his artful reinterpretation of the original residence, Tate stripped the interior down to the studs, opening up the floor plan to create a more open flow, and a new dining room was added where the carport once stood.
The client for this commission confessed a passion for the Thirties, when the Art Deco and Moderne styles provided a sparkling backdrop for the smart set on both sides of the Atlantic.
The resulting residence is architectural alchemy, a melding of between-the-wars nostalgia and an equally strong dose of classical scholarship.
The five-part parti, with hipped roofs and twin chimneys, is an exquisitely proportioned paean to the classical in palest feathered stucco.
Inside, room leads to room in a proper enfilade sequence, flanking a central salon that subtly distills the essence of Palladian Italy.
