ArchForKids provides young people with dynamic hands-on, minds-on learning experiences - grounded in architecture, design, engineering and urban planning. ArchForKids believes in a hands-on minds-on approach to learning. Through engaging programs grounded in architecture, design, engineering and urban planning, ArchForKids spurs young people to explore how the built world around them affects who they are and how they live.
Young designers brainstorm, sketch, estimate, design, calculate and construct. They create parks and dream houses. Kids go on I Spy architecture walks, build model skyscrapers and bridges, and more. They apply academic concepts to real world situations. Young people gain a deeper understanding - and appreciation - of their own communities and the wider world.
For schools, ArchForKids provides STEAM programs that enrich curriculum, both during the school day and afterschool hours. For museums, libraries and community centers, we lead engaging workshops that explore the built environment.

Working remotely, ArchForKids facilitated a two-week charrette with Panama City teens.
The challenge: to re-envision the city's parks.
Over 20 participants, split into six teams, constructed models of their ideal parks.
They presented their designs to the City Commision, and the models were displayed at the Panama City Center for the Arts.
Our partners in this project were the LEAD Coalition of Bay County and the City of Panama City.

Young people explore a wide-range of engaging topics in ArchForKids programs, from skyscrapers to castles to alien homes.
Most programs can be adapted for all ages and grades.
They are appropriate for schools as well as more informal settings, such as libraries, afterschool programs and museums.
Workshops can also be adapted for virtual programming - via the Zoom platforms so we can interact with participants.
Participants can investigate these topics in stand-alone workshops or in an in-depth series.

Our core program is a 2- to 12-session STEAM-based residency that enriches curriculum.
Schools select a grade level and theme.
Our experienced educators take it from there and work to tailor a program to support and enhance classroom curriculum.
In an optional end-of-residency celebration, students present their work to their families and the school community.
A concentrated one-day program where students use the Design Process to respond to a challenge.
