I have been in private practice since 1986 following 25 years as a staff architect and Associate with major San Francisco firms working on large scale projects such as research laboratories, Oakes College at UCSC, Bay Area Rapid Transit stations and maintenance facilities, and the 13-building, 11-acre Pacific Gas and Electric Learning Center in San Ramon, California.
My architecture degree was conferred by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, after which I spent a year at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark. My work in private practice has ranged from office, commercial and multi-family residential to religious, with a particular emphasis on single-family homes, including additions and remodellings.
I am currently a sole practitioner, allowing me to be totally available to my clients, with whom I take a collaborative approach to design. I pride myself on being a good listener to client needs and wishes and take great pleasure in seeing them realized. I strive for design solutions that are specific to the site and appropriate to the surroundings.
