Founded in 2002, Volterra originally manufactured and distributed specialty stucco and plaster products, along with a line of cast stone resin accent products. In 2003 they recognized and capitalized on the demand for decorative, high density polyurethane foam (HDF) building products such as faux-wood beams and planks, corbels, truss tails and shutters, tile accents and exterior details.

Flexible urethane moulding was also an integral part of the product line, as Volterra was, and still is, the only manufacturer in the Southwest region producing custom radius moulding for the woodworking industry. Faux wood beams and trusses soon became the signature product line for Volterra and they became the leading U.S. manufacturer for many online distributors.

In 2011, Volterra expanded the scope of business to include the production of natural hardwood moulding with the acquisition of a leading Arizona moulding and millwork manufacturing company. Now, selling an extensive line of hardwood moulding and trim products with radius moulding to match, Volterra is a one-stop shop for the woodworking industry.

Volterra manufactures integrally-colored ArmourTone synthetic stucco and ArmourTone finish products.
We are also a stocking and tinting distributor of the most comprehensive selection of plaster and faux finish products in the Southwest including imported Italian lime plaster (Grasello and Marmorino) and Claro acrylic plaster.
Grasello and Marmarino are imported Italian lime plasters that provides an unmatched old world mottled finish.
Grasello can produce a range of finishes from high-gloss to satin, with subtle to maximum movement.
Marmarino incorporates a light to medium aggregate and can acheive finishes from matte to lightly-polished.
Both are rated for interior or exterior use on walls and ceilings.
ArmourTone products are complete finish systems that are generally applied over gypsum drywall but can be applied over most substrates including concrete, masonry, EIFS and stucco.
These systems are preferred because joint treatment, surface preparation and colored finishes (either smooth or textured) are achieved with fewer steps, fewer construction days and with less manpower than with traditional drywall compounds and paint.
A benchmark feature of ArmourTone is superior abuse resistance compared to conventional drywall finishes which minimizes ongoing maintenance.
