The word "tectonics" is by definition the art and science of creating structures which are both functional and visually pleasing. Therefore, tectonics is not only our name, but also a reflection of our purpose. To develop and maintain the highest quality planning, design and construction solutions that tastefully blend with and complement the environment.

As Community Tectonics Architects' CEO, Mr. Shell is responsible for the overall business and design direction of the firm.
His philosophy of professional practice, which employs personalized service to each client, forms one of the foundations upon which Community Tectonics was built.
Mr. Shell's design work includes unique projects such as Knoxville's world-famous Sunsphere, the theme structure for the 1982 World's Fair.
Mr. Vinson, President of Community Tectonics, joined the staff upon his graduation from UT Knoxville in 1973 and has been a principal in the firm since 1980.
In 1986 Community Tectonics, Inc. established a scholarship in Bebb's name at the University of Tennessee School of Architecture.
The origins of Community Tectonics Architects dates back to 1950 when the late Mr. Hubert Bebb relocated his successful Chicago-based practice to the East Tennessee area.
The practice grew and prospered as Mr. Bebb's expertise and talent became known in the region.
This development continues today with firm principals who joined the organization during his lifetime.
