The American Institute of Architects (AIA) {www.aia.org} has served as the leading voice for architecture professionals since its founding in 1857 and continues to be the most prominent membership organization for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners. With the national association based in Washington, DC, the AIA is also able to meet the needs of its members at the state and local level via nearly 300 chapters both domestically and abroad {www.aia.org/about/structure/components/AIAS078541}.

AIA Central Valley is the local chapter of The American Institute of Architects. Our local mission is to serve as the voice of the profession in our 17-county region of central California, and is dedicated to professional development, advocacy and sharing the value and contributions of AIA architects.

Services
The Chapter's Board of Directors provides oversight and strategic planning to ensure the health and growth of the organization.
Prospective Board Members are selected by an annual Nominating Committee and are formally elected following a subsequent vote by the Chapter members-in-good-standing.
The Board consists of the President, Vice President / President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Directors, Associate Director, Emerging Professional Director, Allied Director, Public Director, Past President, and the Chapter's Executive Director as an ex-officio member.

In January of 2019, the American Institute of Architects, Central Valley Chapter developed a revised 2020-2025 Strategic Plan.
As a part of the Strategic Plan, we've created an Implementation Plan, updated each year to track progress on specific action items for each goal.
The Strategic Plan Steering Committee met regularly in 2019 to define guiding principals, engage key stakeholders and strategically evaluate our current programs and activities.
