Our tradition of service dates back to 1926 when a 27-year-old architect and the firm's first president, Jim Kideney, hung his shingle.
That was the same year that Mike Shea opened his movie palace on Main Street; it was the year in which Jim Kideney received his first big commission, the Meadowbrook Country Club.
There were also a few residential projects and some modest rehab work to help sustain this young architect.
Then, in October of 1929, the stock market crashed heralding the beginning of the Great Depression.
Our concern is not only for the impact people have on the environment; we design to ensure that people are positively affected by their environment.
We as human beings intuitively know that our environment impacts our performance.
So, why haven't we worried about the impact of our built environment?
High-Performance Environments go beyond saving energy; they take into account a wide variety of building components to yield an efficient environment that makes its occupants healthier, happier, safer and more productive.
Kideney Architects was awarded the commission to design the expansion of Buffalo Public Schools popular Emerson Culinary High School.
The new building includes mixed commercial/residential/hotel space situated atop a six-story parking structure which serves as the structural base for the building.
The former Christian Center building was adapted to provide hotel support space, including banquet and meeting spaces and a pool/fitness center.
Kideney Architects, in partnership with JMZ Architects, was selected for the design of a new STEM Building at the North Campus of Erie Community College in Amherst, NY.
Kideney employs a diverse staff of individuals, many of whom hold membership in and/or participate on the boards of several professional, cultural and non-profit organizations.
We value the many positive and long-standing relationships we have developed over the years and are committed to serving the Western New York Community as we have since 1926.
