Jon Hensley is an architect with 30 years of practice focused on strengthening communities through fostering collaborative design, enduring relationships, and vibrant art and design. Jon has actively supported arts organizations, serving currently in his 12th year on the Arlington Public Art Committee, and previously with the Arlington Commission of the Arts for 6 years.
He has been a visiting critic at the Catholic University School of Architecture and a member of the Pinecrest School Board of Directors. Jon graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Architecture and is a registered architect in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. He is an avid fan of gardening, Nats baseball, and music. Prior to graduate school, she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and then worked in an aviation architecture firm for four years.
Besides running after her kids, Isaac and Norah, she spends her time pursuing various DIY projects, serving in her church, and discovering the joys of being a homeowner.

Over the decades, we have maintained a focus on fostering on-going collaborative relationships with our clients and building partners alike, all with an eye toward strengthening a culture of community.
We work with clients in the greater Washington DC region, relying upon communication and relationship-building to help them discover and fulfill their vision for their home or business.
Our concentration on new residential construction, residential renovations, small commercial, and tenant interiors projects enables us to maintain close connections with clients and builders.

In this first phase, we consult with the owner to determine project goals and requirements that will serve as a basis for design.
We also collect information about the site, and analyze relevant building codes, zoning requirements and jurisdictional restrictions that may influence the design.
For additions and renovations, we take measurements and closely document a project, and create plans and elevations of the existing conditions.
During schematic design, we develop study drawings and/or 3-D renderings that illustrate the design concepts and include spatial relationships, scale, and form for the owner to review.
