Bill Maston is a local licensed architect who has lived in the Mountain View and Los Altos area for over 50 years.
He is the Principal of William Maston Architect & Associates, a firm that specializes in single family residential, select multi-family residential and select commercial retail projects.

This background has proved very effective in designing complicated hillside projects, planned unit developments and site-specific master plans.
Founded by award-winning architect William Maston in 1989, WMAA is a high-quality, full-service architectural firm located in the heart of Mountain View.
As a home owner or developer, perhaps the first and most difficult part of starting a project is selecting the right architect.
Not every architect has the same skill set in design, public presentation, construction management, problem solving, negotiation, mediation, etc.
As a result, it's difficult as a first time client to make "apples to apples" comparison between architects and determine which architect is best for you and your project.
Project description: Extremely complicated 23 acre site.
Ridgeline location and steep slopes provided both unique opportunities and difficulties.
A quarter mile, engineered road ribbons up the hill to the house location, which enjoys unimpeded views from San Francisco to San Jose.
As the house steps up the steep slope, each rooftop becomes a usable deck for the indoor space adjacent to it.
This Santa Barbara style, Spanish revival home includes many details from the Santa Barbara architectural museum/archives that were researched by the owners.
The proposed project will Split the lot into two separate parcels leaving the apartment building on parcel 1 with a simple balcony addition and paving modifications.
Parcel 2 will be completely redeveloped into 8 condominium units above a parking podium.
These units range from 1,650 to 1,750 sq.
Demolition of 2-story concrete commercial building, 1-story single family residence & garage and 1-story multi-family residence building.
We will combine & merge the lots to create a single lot and construct new 4 story multi-family structure with 1 story of underground parking.
The project seeks to add one hundred and eighteen units of apartments, varying in size from one to three bedroom units.
With this project appearing alongside other nearby high-density residential apartments, it is in line with Mountain View's vision for housing supply and demand, offering 12 Affordable Housing units on site.
With private balconies and courtyard amenities like the bbq & fire p it, exercise room, common lounges, and meeting areas, this project offers the complete package for living in the Silicon Valley.
