Terrigenous has been designing and building outdoor spaces for private residences in Vermont since 1998. We specialize in problem-solving through creative design, adding value to your ideas, and building long-lasting landscapes that compliment your lifestyle. Our mission is to restore a sense of connection with the existing Vermont landscape by utilizing local materials and environmentally-sound practices.

Along the way, we hope to inspire communities, cultivate artistic expression, and explore unconventional ideas of outdoor space. As one of four children raised by a sociologist and a philosopher, his childhood was a combination of art, music, labor, family, being out-doors, projects, and travel. The importance of being true to yourself and respect for the surrounding landscape were the basis for much of the way he grew up.

From 1988 to 1993, Scott attended Rhode Island School of Design and earned a Bachelor Degree in Fine Art, and a Bachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture. Following graduation he worked as a model maker for Martha Schwartz Inc., as an intern at Harvard University's Arnold Arboretum, and for Gordon Hayward Landscape Gardening and Design in Westminster, Vermont.

According to Scott Wunderle, owner and architect of Terrigenous, the project began with a committee of volunteers surveying all existing trees within the village, identifying those that needed to be pruned, those that needed to be removed and areas that could take new trees.
Committee members included Lillian Willis, Nancy Chute, Gary King and then-Executive Assistant Julie Hance, who is now town manager.
The Southern Windsor Regional Planning Commission provided maps and Hugh Henry, a local architectural historian, shared photos.
