MKA's primary design goal is to derive uncomplicated solutions that solve spatial organization problems, both from usability and visual standpoints. In other words, good design just feels right. This comes from having a place for everything, flowing through your space effortlessly, and enjoying moments of beauty created by simple details. Having the process feel right for our clients is equally important, which is why once we begin our project together, MKA will dive deep and give you our undivided attention.

They value clarity in design. And they believe that good modern design shows clear design intent, minimal ornamentation, a careful study of spatial relationships, functionality, and achieving a design goal with a few clever moves. They expect boutique service. MKA approaches every project as a once-in-a-lifetime home. As one writer stated, what you get with Kramer is a point of view, not a particular style.

And yes, a waiting list. They lead busy lives. When designing for an active lifestyle, it's helpful to have a designer working with you to think about where things should go - from kayaks and bicycles to sandy towels - and how your family, pets, and guests move through spaces.

Located on the North Fork of Long Island, Meryl Kramer Architect offers the ideal setting for anyone interested in dynamic communities, outdoor year-round recreation, and a high quality of life.
Meryl brings a modern viewpoint to a traditional style of residential architecture.
She incorporates elegant clarity in her designs, with the goal of finding uncomplicated solutions that solve spatial organization problems, functionally and visually.
After earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University, and practicing architecture in Washington DC and the Hamptons, she founded her studio on the East End of Long Island in 1999.
She gravitated toward custom residential design out of the enjoyment of the close relationships formed, specifically building on opportunities to hear and understand others and translate their visions into a well-loved modern living space.
I'd been eyeing Meryl's website for years before I bought a house on the North Fork.
And once I found the house, I knew she was the perfect person to redesign it.
Meryl doesn't just bring a gorgeous aesthetic to the table - simple, elegant and graceful - she and her team are "full service, " ensuring that every detail, no matter how small, is taken care of.
They worked with me on the design and selection of every material, implementing all aspects of the job in ways that I didn't expect.
I was impressed and relieved to have professionals of their caliber worrying about every item so I didn't have to.
