After graduation, he worked for various companies including Whiting-Turner Contracting Company and Shankel Construction.
Claris began during the 1991 recession with a rotary phone, a desk in the garage, and $100 in the bank.

And even with the extremely bad winter we had, they managed to finish right on time which was fantastic for us.
When we discussed it with the architect, when we discussed it with the engineers, the building came out exactly how we pictured it.
