Site Design Studio (SDS) is a Landscape Architecture & Planning firm, certified as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB WBE) with the North Carolina Statewide Uniform Certification (SWUC) Program. In addition to our certification as a HUB firm, SDS meets the criteria to be classified as Small Business defined by the US Small Business Administration and is also recognized as a Prequalified Consultant with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Certified as HUB, SPSF, DBE and WBE.

Our staff has over 30 years of combined design and project management experience, of which 20 years have been served in Asheville, Western North Carolina and throughout the Southeast.
Services
The SDS Studio is located on South Main Street in the historic Town of Weaverville, 15 minutes north of downtown Asheville.
Our Studio occupies a recently renovated office space in the Reagan Building which previoulsy housed the Fire Department.
We share this outstanding reuse with Twisted Laurel, All Good Coffee and Maggie B's.
Julie is majority-owner and president of SDS.
She earned her Landscape Architecture degree from Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning, her Landscape Horticulture degree from Colorado State University and is currently licensed as a Landscape Architect in North Carolina.

Based on the foundation of Julie's early-career planning experience, SDS provides community planning, landscape architecture and construction document services for an array of public and private mixed-use, land planning, property assessment, single & multi-family residential as well as retirement/wellness projects.
SDS also provides master planning, landscape architecture and construction document services for an array of public and private commercial type projects including office, retail, civic, institutional and industrial.
SDS works with clients to design and facilitate a participatory public involvement process.
We understand that public support is critical in completing and implementing public plans.
The challenge is to obtain input from all current and potential stakeholders, land owners, community groups and individual representatives.
It is essential to identify those key stakeholders and representatives, get the community involved early on in the process and layout an approach for continuous collaboration throughout.
